The LaGrange County Library does have a county history section. From Amanda Wisler, Technology Coordinator for LaGrange County Library:

We have microfilm copies of the LaGrange Standard from 1857 to the present, as well as the LaGrange News, the Topeka Journal, and scattered copies of other county newspapers.  We have microfilm copies of county census records from 1830 to 1920, including 1890 (the county kept duplicate records that year).  We also have various indexes to the county's birth, death, marriage, and land records, as well as local history books and a number of family histories donated by local genealogists.

In addition, we have a large number of county histories from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and a few other states, thanks to a local genealogist who willed her collection to us two years ago.

You might also like to tell genealogists that the actual birth and death records to which we have indexes are kept by the County Health Department, which is located in the County Office Building, and the marriage records are kept at the courthouse, in the County Clerk's office.  (It seems to cause some confusion when researchers find the indexes at the library, but not the records.) See below for the addresses and phone numbers.

The library, courthouse, and County Office Building are all only a short walk apart, and genealogists can easily visit all three in one day. (See the map on the LaGrange Library website)
