Condition:
This cemetery was restored by Jessica Felix, students from Cascade Middle
School, and the landowners in the Spring of 2007. It is in a well-used
cow pasture but is surrounded by barbed wire and concrete corner posts. Prior
to the Thomases buying the farm, cattle had been in the cemetery, causing
much of the damage to the stones. Many stones and pieces were never
found.
The landowners cleared the brush and dead trees from the cemetery which
allowed for the restoration of the stones. All stones were cleaned,
repaired and reset. There are two very large gravecovers supported by bricks
in the southwest corner of the cemetery. A tree has caused them to
be pushed up and sideways. The tree will need to be cut down in the
fall before the bricks can be replaced and the covers moved back into place.
Photos of individual stones have been entered into
Find-A-Grave
.
