HIGGINS CEMETERY

Directions:
This cemetery is located on the north side of CR 100N, about midway between
SR 75 and CR 550W. It is right next to a brick ranch and the south
fence of the cemetery is right along the road.

Condition:
This cemetery is fenced on three sides but not mowed or maintained, which
is similar to how it was in 1992. Stones for five people were found.
One stack stone is standing (David & Helen Higgins). Another stack
top has fallen and is sinking into the ground (Thomas & Ann Higgins).
Thomas’ old tablet stone is standing next to the fallen stack. A tablet
stone for Martha Sheets is standing but leaning forward. Two more burials
have been recorded but stones were not found (Daniel Higgins and Mary Jane
Higgins). Daniel Higgins fought in the Revolutionary War.
