HARRIS CEMETERY
Lincoln Township, Hendricks County, Indiana
Approximately in the NE ¼ of Sec 10, T16N R1E
According to “The Village of Brownsburg,” a book written
by Peg Kennedy and Frankie Konovsek, “The Harris Cemetery, originally located
on the east bank of White Lick Creek north of Crawfordsville Road where the
creek curves, may have been the oldest cemetery in the town of Brownsburg.
Apparently laid too close to the creek, the bank eventually eroded and the
graves either no longer exist, or are buried farther to the east than first
imagined. As unpleasant as it may seem, it is also possible they washed
downstream.”
There are no visible signs of this cemetery.
