Condition:
This cemetery is in the side yard of a residence. There is no fence,
but two corner posts remain. It is mowed like the rest of the yard.
There is only one large monument with a stone grave cover. However,
there are eight names on the single stack stone and no grave indentations.
Leaning against the stone were old stones for two of the Arnold children
(Margaret and Benjamin). On the west face of the monument are John and Hannah
Arnold. On the south face are four names. The top one is Rebecca
Arnold, John’s mother. There are also three of John and Hannah’s children:
Benjamin, Margaret, and Allen. From the order of the death dates, it
is clear that this stone was carved as a replacement for earlier markers.
Strangely, the east face of the stone bears two modern names: Robert and
Jane Clodfelder, deaths in 1993 and 1994. The north side of the stone
is blank.
