Source: Greenfield Evening Republican, June 21 1895 page 1 'Local and Personals' It has been reported on our streets today that Jacob Anderson, of Blue River Township, who was found dead in bed yesterday morning, had committed suicide. This is false. Mr. Anderson had been afflicted for some time with heart disease, and has been confined to his bed for several days. His wife left him in bed at 4 o'clock in the morning apparently feeling better, but when she called him for breakfast, she found him dead. |
| 2 | Nila L. Hart | 2/12/2003 | Greenfield Daily Reporter | Nila L. Hart, 70, of Greenfield, formerly of Otwell, died Feb 10, 2003 at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. Born Aug 4, 1932 in Greene County, she was the daughter of James Burton and Mary Pha McAtee Houpt. She had been employed as a teacher with New Palestine Schools. Survivors include her son John Hart of Douglasville, GA; daughter Cathy S. Conrad of Greenfield; sisters Mary Anna Dickson and Lydia Millard, both of Winslow; and three grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her sister Emma Mae Reichenbach. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Friends may call from 4-8 pm Wednesday and 8-11 am Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. |
| 3 | Larry Jo Conrad | 7/30/1999 | Greenfield Daily Reporter | Larry Jo Conrad, 53, Greenfield, died Monday, July 26, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. He was a former call-center supervisor for The Paddock Inc. in Knightstown, a retired employee of the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville (1993) and Greenville Township Volunteer Fire Department after 11 years. He was a member of the Indiana Army National Guard for 27 years, and Indian Creek Baptist Church, south of Greenville. He was preceeded in death by his father, Charles Conrad. Survivors include his wife, the former Cathy Hart; two sons, Dwight Dean Conrad of Fredericksburg and Troy Lee Conrad of Corydon, his mother, Wilma Wilkerson Conrad of Greenville; two brothers, Charles (Butch) Conrad of Greenville and Keith Allen Conrad of New Johnsonville, TN.; and four grandchildren. The funeral was Thursday at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial in Greenville Cemetery. |
