Looking for information on my g-g-grandfather, Asa Ray Asher, age
28, born Ind., on 1850 Elkhart, Ind. Federal Census. I believe
his wife's name was Sarah. Children: 1) Marion, 2) James Monroe,
3) Mathilda Ellen (my g-grandmother), 4)Alvin 5) Washington, 6)
Albert, 7) Emma, 8) Elizabeth. According to the children's birth
states they were in Iowa in 1855; Kansas in 1864; back in Iowa in
1862 and Kansas in 1863; and on the McDonald Co., Mo. special

purchased a steamship ticket for my Great Grandmother MaryAnna
Kraehenbuehl to immigrate from Berne SWZ to Elkhart Indiana.
MaryAnna eventually went to Davenport Iowa and married John
Amann. I believe the Beer family was related to the Kraehenbuehl
family. I have christmas cards from Indiana to my Grandmother
Bertha Marie Bargholz [Amann] from the 30's signed "your
cousin" Any information would be greatly appreciated.
