LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ALBERT HATHAWAY


I, Albert Hathaway, of DeKalb County in the State of Indiana, do hereby make my last will and testament.

First: It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.

Second: After the payment of such funeral expenses and debts, I give and bequeath to my wife, Phebe Hathaway, all my property, real and personal and mixed, of every kind and description to have and to hold for and during her natural life.

Third: At the death of my said wife, I give and bequeath to my children, to wit: Eunice E. Roland, Hannah R. Wise, Mary J. Brown, John H. Hathaway, Anna C. Houser, Lydia E. Mountz, Silas Hathaway, Dollie D. Book, Stella Hathaway and Calvin Hathaway, each an undivided one-eleventh (1/11) of all my property enumerated in item second of this will, they to have and to hold the same in fee simple and absolute.

Fourth: At the death of my wife, I give to my grandchildren, to wit: Grace Hathaway, Austin Hathaway, and Walter Hathaway each the one thirty-third (1/33) of all my property enumerated in item second of this will, they to have and to hold the same in fee simple and absolute.

Fifth: I hereby appoint John H. Hathaway executor of this my last will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this fourth day of August in the year 1900.
