Lebanon, Ind., Oct. 14 -- Samuel Richards, 84, and Mrs. Martha Heath, 77, both wealthy, met for the first time last Saturday, were together a half hour, fell in love and arranged the details of their marriage which occurred here Friday.

Ward -- The fortune teller's prophecy came true. Perry Ray held the right and left bower but Charley Werts held the winning hand. The fact was made known by the blowing of horns, the rattleing [sic] of bells and the firing of guns, together with many voices to make a noise so as to wake the peaceful slumbers of bride and groom which was finally accomplished. So Charley Werts and Eva Wise are man and wise.

Moore, was announced at a meeting of the Tri Kappa Sorority, held at the home of Miss Ruth Campbell. Mr. Moore is the surveyor of Boone County and his bride-to-be is popular in society. The wedding is to take place Oct. 14.

A wedding of interest to the many friends of the groom in this city will take place in Whitestown, Ind., today, when Miss Ordelia Hughbanks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hughbanks, of that place, will be married to Mr. Frank R. Dulin, of this city, at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. William E. Morris, of Indianapolis, will perform the ceremony in the presence of the members of the two immediate families, and Miss Grace Etchison, of Lebanon, Ind., and Mr. William B. Ralston, of Fort Wayne, will attend the bride and groom. Mr. Dulin and his bride will take a short wedding trip on the northern lakes, and upon their return will reside at 342 East Washington boulevard.

Lyle Matthews of Lafayette and Miss Anita Hostettor [sp?] of this city were married at the Presbyterian Church at noon Monday by the Rev O. H. Carmichael. Only the immediate relatives and intimate friends of the couple were present. Mr. Matthews is a son of H. P. Matthews of Crawfordsville. His bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hostettor [sp? Hostetter?]. She was one of the most prominent young society women of this city.

Pretty Home Wedding

Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Cornelius, west of Advance, occurred the marriage of their youngest daughter, Ruby, to Fred A. Riner, son of Mr. And Mrs. M. P. Riner.

At the appointed hour, seven o’clock, Mrs. Verna Crouch, sister of the bride, sang Moore’s familiar, “Believe Me To All Those Endearing Young Charms,” and was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Fred Routh, also a sister of the bride.

As the strains of music changed to "Lohengrin’s Wedding March,” the bridal party entered, led by little Miss Freida McClaine, who bore the wedding ring in a pink tea rose. Rev. O. E. Kelly, of Terre Haute, followed next in order, and the bride and groom who were unattended, followed.

The ceremony was performed beneath an improvised pergola of similax. During the reading of the ring ceremony, Mrs. Routh played softly, Nevin’s, "There Was a Lover and his Lass."

After the congratulations, the guests were served with a three course luncheon, the color theme of pink and white being used throughout. The guests were waited upon by Thora Melson, Ester Burrin, Lucile Yager, and Elizabeth Swisher, former pupils of the bride, who were dressed in white with pink sashes and hair ribbons.

The bride is a graduate of Advance High School, attended Indiana University and was a successful school teacher in the Advance schools.

The groom is a graduate of Lebanon High School and Wabash College, and spent a year in Hayti [sic], in service with the Marines. At present he is [a] chemist for the Indiana Condensery.

The bride and groom left for a short wedding trip, the bride traveling in an Algerian red suit of velour, trimmed in Hudson seal with a red satin, metallic embroidered hat and accessories to match.

They will be at home to their friends after the first of the year at their apartment on East Washington Street, Lebanon.

The guests included the immediate families and friends of the bride and groom.

Those from a distance were: Mrs. Harvey M. Coffin and Miss Monte Lux of Bement, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Turner of Joplin, Missouri.

This afternoon at Beech Grove, Indianapolis, occured [sic] the wedding of Miss Verna Ruth Cornelius, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Cornelius and Loyd [sic] Eugene Crouch, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Crouch of Jeffersonville, Ind.

Rev. S. L. Welker a former pastor of Rev. Crouch performed the ceremony.

Rev. Crouch has been preaching five years, his pastorates being; Elizabethtown; Wesley Chapel, Jeffersonville: First M. E. Church, Vevay: now at First Church, Chapin, Iowa. His school work covered terms at Manchester College, North Manchester, Ind.; Winona College; Moores Hill College; University of Louisville.

Miss Cornelius is a graduate of Lebanon High School, a teacher in the Jefferson Township schools, trained at Bethany Park for Sunday School work and at present a sucessful [sic]teacher in the Advance Christian school. She was also a student at Winona College in 1911 where she met Mr. Crouch. The witnesses to the ceremony were the Misses Nina Waters, Leola McClaine and Ruby Cornelius.

This community will lose one of its most valuable church and social workers but the many talents of the bride will be a wonderful help to Rev. Crouch in doing effective church work.

On Monday afternoon at ___th[?] Advance Christian Church occured [sic] the wedding of Miss Ma_[?]Belle Cornelius, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cornelius and Fred M. Routh, son of Mrs. Carrie B. Routh.

The contracting parties are well known in this community. The groom has lived near here all his life. Mrs. Routh has been very prominent in musical circles of this community and her absence will be especially felt at the Advance Christian Church where she has been pianist for six years.

They will reside on the groom's farm near Lebanon.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Lloyd E. Crouch, pastor of the First M. E. Church, of Chapin, Iowa, who has been visiting in this community for the past few days, and was witnessed by Misses Verna and Ruby Cornelius, Leola McClaine and Nina Waters.

The many friends extend hearty congratulations.

Lebanon, Ind., July 23 -- The marriage of Miss Geraldine Lewallen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lewallen of this city, and Myron B. Tauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul O. Tauer of this city, occurred yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Church here, the Rev. Frank R. Briggs officiating.

The bride was graduated from the local high school this spring. Mr. Tauer is also a graduate from the high school here and attended Purdue university. He was employed as a teacher in the city schools of Lebanon last year and has accepted a position as coach of athletics and instructor in manual training in the high school at Mascotah, Ill., for the coming school year. His father formerly was mayor of Lebanon.
