Platter Family Cemetery
Listed below is the transcription of the tombstone in the Platter Family Cemetery, MilanTownship, Allen County, Indiana. The cemetery is located .2 mile south of the Platter bridge, on the northeast bank of the Maumee River. This cemetery is no longer in use.
This cemetery could not be located in the spring of 2009.
Thanks to the generosity of Keith Nuttle, who was able to locate the cemetery in November of 2010, we now have these photos.
To reach the
cemetery park on the east side of the bridge on the south side of the
road, at the end of the railing that protects the approach to the
bridge. From the end of the barrier walk directly south across the
field.The Cemetery consists of about a half acre on the river bank.

In some instances the stones were very worn and hard to read. The DAR did a reading in 1932 and the Allen County Genealogical Society did a reading in the 1980ís. The information from these readings was used if the stones were unreadable or if the stones were not found.
