COX, DOUGLAS S.

Douglas Stephen Cox was born in 1867 at Oxville, Illinois. He was the son of Americus and Margaret Smith Cox and has always lived in Scott county. He was united in marriage to Eunice Tankersley in 1919. To this union three children were born: Ross of Exeter, Louise of Merritt and a daughter Hester, who passed away in March 1931.

He was taken to Our Saviour's hospital June 2, and passed away on June 16, aged 74 years.

He is survived by his son and daughter, and three brothers and two sisters, Fred of White Hall, Ralph of Concord, John of Beardstown, Mrs. John Gerard and Mrs. George Christison of Naples.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church at Exeter, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Watson officiating.

The flowers were cared for by Jewel DeBusk, Marsella Taylor and Mary Frances Morris.

Interment was in the Oxville cemetery, the casket bearers being John Lorton, John Korty, Henry Hitt, Russell Bishop, George Berry and Ralph Collison.
