Mabel Prather

MANCHESTER - Mabel Prather 83, of Manchester died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at Skyview Terrace, Jacksonville.

She was born April 5, 1915, in Salem, Mo., the daughter of John and Molly Smith Elliott. She married Gordon A. Prather in 1933 in Manchester.

Mrs. Prather worked in food service for Manchester Grade School Cafeteria, the Jacksonville YMCA and the Jacksonville High School cafeteria.

She was a member of Manchester Baptist Church.

Survivors: husband, Gordon; three sons, James Elliott (wife, Wanda) Prather of Kampsville, Bill (wife, Carol) Prather of Jacksonville, and Robert A. (wife, Nancy) Prather of Columbia, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 am.m. Monday, Cody and Son Memorial Home, Jacksonville. Burial: Manchester Cemetery.
