Alfred L Martin

WHITE HALL - Alfred L. Martin, 78, retired carpenter, of White Hall, died at 7 a.m. Sunday. The body is at the Dawdy Funeral Home and services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Manchester Baptist Church with burial in the Manchester Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Eva Hawkins Martin, to whom he was married in 1907; a son, Buell, of White Hall, a sister, Mrs. Lena Morris, of Springfield; two brothers, Arthur, of Roodhouse, and Junie of Peoria, and one granddaughter.

Buell L. Martin
WHITE HALL -- Buell L. Martin, 87, of White Hall died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at Springfield Health Care Center.

He was born June 24, 1911, in White Hall, the son of Alfred Leslie and Eva Mae Hawkins Martin. He married Marie Wilson in 1954 in Cumberland, Md.

Mr. Martin was employed as a floor finisher. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in White Hall and the White Hall American Legion.

Survivors: wife, Marie; a daughter by a previous marriage, Mrs. Roy (Reta) Borg of Chatham; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Manchester Cemetery, Manchester.

Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements.
