ANOTHER AGED RESIDENT OF MANCHESTER PASSES

Mrs. Anna Leighton Blevins passed away at 2:30 this (Thursday) morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. Emma Chapman in Manchester, after several weeks illness. It was only the last week that her condition was regarded as serious.

She was the daughter of James F. and Nancy Curtis, and was born April 18, 1851 on the Curtis homestead west of Manchester. Her age was 79 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

She was married to John R. Blevins of Manchester, April 1, 1877. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago. Her entire life had been spent in Manchester and vicinity.

One brother S. A. D. Curtis of Fullerton, California, and the following children survive. Mrs. S. G. (Mabel) Sykes, White Hall; George C. Blevins, Woodriver; Mrs. Linnie Horton, Mrs. Emma Chapman and Mrs. C. L. (Florence) Leitze, Manchester. Also four grandchildren, Russell and Anna Frances Chapman, James Russell and Curtis Shirley Blevins.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Manchester M. E. Church, and will be in charge of Dr. M. L. Pontius of Jacksonville.

Funeral of Mrs. Anna Blevins Held Here Friday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna L. Blevins whose death occurred here early last Thursday morning, were held in the M. E. Church at 2:30 Friday afternoon, conducted by Dr. M. L. Pontius of Jacksonville, assisted by Rev. Stander of the Girard Christian Church.

Mrs. J. C. Andras rendered two vocal number. "Softly Now the Light of Day." and "At Eventide." with Miss Louise Pearce at the piano. The flowers were in charge of Mrs. Clare McQuown, Mrs. Frank Merrill, Jr., Mrs. Kirby Tankersley and Mrs. Ralph Foster, great-grandnieces of the deceased. The pallbearers were Wm.( Arnold )Arendell, Frank Whitney, J. C. Akers, Curtis Brown, Bert Whitney and Edward Akers, nephews.

Interment was in Manchester Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Blevins

Mrs. Anna Blevins, aged 79 years, 4 months and 11 days, widow of John R. Blevins died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Chapman in Manchester, after a long period of declining health.

She was the daughter of Jas. and Nancy Curtis, pioneer residents of Manchester community, and was born on the old Curtis homestead west of Manchester. She was married April 1, 1877 to John R. Blevins, who preceded her in death several years ago. Of their six children, five survive: Mabel, wife of S. G. Sykes, White Hall; George C. Blevins, Woodriver; Linnie, wife of John Horton, Mrs. Emma Chapman; Florence, wife of Chas. L. Leitze of Manchester. One daughter Nellie, is deceased. One brother, S. A. D. Curtis, resides in Fullerton, Calif. There are also four grandchildren surviving: Russell and Anna Frances Chapman, James Russell and Curtis Shirley Blevins.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 in the M. E. Church at Manchester, Rev. M. L. Pontius of Jacksonville, officiating. Interment in Manchester Cemetery.
