BARNETT, ELLEN IRENE FEARNEYHOUGH

Ellen I. Barnett, 92, of Roodhouse dies

ROODHOUSE - Ellen Irene Barnett, 92, of Roodhouse died Tuesday, April 1, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 30, 1893, in Scott County, daughter of James and Laura Southwell Fearneyhough. She married Roy Barnett, who preceded her in death May 18, 1965.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Barnett of Alsey, Eugene Barnett of White Hall and Allen Barnett of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Eileen) Taylor of Roodhouse; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Elliott of Winchester.

s. Barnett was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Interment will be in the Manchester Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m.


BARNETT, CURTIS EUGENE

Curtis Barnett

Curtis Eugene "Gene" Barnett, 81, of White Hall, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Dec. 20, 1918, in Winchester, the son of Roy and Ellen Fearneyhough Barnett. He married Barbara Decker on July 13, 1957, in White Hall and she survives in White Hall.

He is also survived by two daughters, Gina (husband, Kris) Graham and Lesa (husband, Kelly) Jackson, both of White Hall; seven grandchildren and a sister, Eileen (husband, Glenn) Taylor of Roodhouse. He was preceded in death by two brother, Kenneth and Allen.

Mr. Barnett owned and operated Gene Barnett Plumbing and Heating and for past eight years, worked as a caretaker for the Roodhouse Community Park Board.

He was a member of the White Hall VFW No. 7684, a 66-year member of the South Scott County American Legion Post No. 0751 and a member of the White Hall Sportsman's Club.

Memorial services were held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the White Hall United Methodist Church.

Burial was at Manchester Cemetery.

Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in White Hall was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Roodhouse Community Bath House Fund.
