at Manchester.
Mrs. Anna Roach of this city received word today of the death of her cousin, T. Carlyle Antrobus, in Colorado Springs, Colo., Thursday. He had been in failing health for a number of months, and death had been expected for several days.
Word of the young man's death will be received with deep regret by many Jacksonville people, as he was well known here, as well as in Manchester, his home town. He attended Illinois College Here and graduated three years ago.
While in college Mr. Antrobus was active in student affairs, and took much interest in athletics. He was a member of the basket ball team for several seasons and proved himself a valuable man in this line of sport.
He was well liked by students and faculty, and had many friends here who were not connected with the college.
A few years ago Mr. Antrobus was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Todd, foster daughter of the late Rev. Todd, Baptist minister.
After leaving college he taught for a time in the Camp Point high school.
The decedent was the only son of Mrs. F. F. Clark of Manchester. He would have been 25 years of age the 21st of this month.
He is survived by his wife and baby daughter, Marilyn; his mother, Mrs. F. F. Clark; his father, Rev. Edward Antrobus of Madison, Ind., one sister, Mrs. George Cooper of Manchester and other relatives.
The remains will arrive in Manchester Sunday morning, accompanied by the wife and daughter. Funeral arrangements are incomplete as yet.
