Louis Nortrup, retired Bluffs farmer, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday at Passavant hospital. He was 89 years old.

Mr. Nortrup was born in Scott county Dec. 25, 1883, son of Dietrick and Caroline Pieper Nortrup. He married Alwine Meier Oct. 21, 1915, and she survives. There are three children, Earl of Jacksonville; Helen, wife of William Winkleman of Arenzville; and Alta, wife of Edwin Lueker of Mt. Olive. There are nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Two sons, Charles and Harold, preceded their in father in death as did granddaughter, Betty JoAnne Nortrup.

The deceased was the last of 11 children. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church at Neeleyville and of the Men's club of the church.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Neeleyville at Trinity Lutheran church with Pastor Don Kroll officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
