Bluffs, Dec. 5- Mrs. August Kaiser, 85 years old, a former well known resident of Scott county, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Magelitz, at Downers Grove, Ill.
Her remains arrived in Bluffs at 8:37 o'clock Sunday morning and were taken to the home of Harmon Pahlmann, three miles east of Bluffs. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Neelyville Lutheran church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kaiser resided east of Bluffs for many years. Her husband is buried at Neeleyville.

Bluffs, Il., Aug. 26.- August Kaiser, a native of Germany and for the past seven years a well respected farmer residing one-half east of town, died at 11:15 o'clock Thursday evening after a prolonged illness due to the effect of the grip contracted nearly a year ago.
Mr. Kaiser was born in Stetten, Germany, Oct. 16, 1847, and came to this country seven years ago and settled down on a farm near Bluffs. He was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church at Neeleys.
He was married in 1875 to Wilhelmina Ranft and to this union seven childdren were born, two of whom have preceded the father in death. He is survived by his wife and the following children: William Kaiser, Germany; Mrs. Emma Erfurth, Germany; Mrs. Martha Magelitz, Bluffs; Mrs. Mary Hinstorf, Germany, and Mrs. Emma Haller of Peoria.
There will be held a short funeral service at the family residence at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon and the regular funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock at the Lutheran church at Neeleys. The services will be in charge of the Rev. J. Deterding, pastor of the church. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Neeleys.
