MANCHESTER CEMETERY OBITUARIES



COOPER, LYDIA AUGUSTA WINDSOR

Lydia Augusta, daughter of Frank and Nora Belle Windsor, was born near Manchester, October 16, 1898, and departed this life at Passavant Hospital, Jacksonville, March 15th 1934, aged 35 years 4 months 29 days. Her early life was spent at home attending public schools and participating in the activities of the community in which she lived.

Early in life she professed a hope in Christ and united with the Manchester Baptist Church, remaining a devoted member until the Master called her home.

On January 1 30, 1916, she was united in marriage to Leonard Cooper.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, father and mother of Alton, Illinois. Also, the following brothers and sisters, Susie,, wife of Bodie Greenwalt, Ruth, wife of Emory Funk, both of Manchester, John, Frank, Jr. , Helen (at home) Roberta, wife of Leonard Vaughn, all of Alton, Illinois, and Margaret, wife of Clifford Upchurch, of West Frankfort, Illinois. While no children came to bless this union, she had taken her nephew, John Windsor, Jr. into her home at the age of two years and upon him lavished a mother's care and devotion. A large Circle of relatives and friends are saddened by her early departure, especially as her death marked the first break in the home circle.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 O'clock at the Baptist Church, with the Rev. A. P. Gregory officiating.

The music was in charge of Mrs. J. C. Andras, Mrs. Thressa Langdon, Frank Carmean and rev. A. P. Gregory, Miss Nellie Smith at he piano. Mrs. J. C. Andras rendered a solo, "My Father Knows," accompanied by Miss Louise Pearce.

Those caring for flowers were Mrs. H. O. Hudson, Mrs. Earl Blackburn, Mrs. Russell Duncan, Mrs. Eddie Spencer, Mrs, A. P. Gregory, and Mrs. Curtis Kelly.

The casket bearers were Geo. Cooper, H. O. Hudson, J. E. Osborne, Eddie Spencer, J. A. Edwards and Carl Brown.

Interment in Manchester Cemetery.

A large number of relatives and friends from a distance were in attendance.
