Aged 41 years, passed away Saturday morning at 5:30 o'clock at Our Saviors hospital, after an illness of about ten weeks duration. She was brought from her home in Exeter, Scott county, to the hospital about a month ago for treatment. Miss Berry will be remembered here by many as she conducted a millinery establishment in this city some years ago. She was a devoted member of the Catholic church at Bluffs and was a true christian woman. She has many friends both in her home town and in this city who deeply mourn her loss.
Decedent is survived by her father, sister, Miss Mary, brothers, Edward and William Berry of Exeter, and Charles of New York, and James of St. Louis.
The remains were taken to the O'Donnell undertaking parlors, prepared for the casket and in the evening taken overland to the family residence in Exeter.
The funeral services of Miss Julia Berry were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the family residence in Exeter and were conducted by Rev. Father O'Brien of this city, assisted by Father Bell of Winchester, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives.
There was a profusion of beautiful flowers and they were kindly carried by Misses Mary Ward, Ruby Brown, Mrs. Mary Hubbard and Mrs. Ruth Funk.
The remains were escorted to the Exeter cemetery where brief services were held and interment took place. The bearers were H. J. Ratigan, Thos. Whitlock, Thos. Brown, Stewart Armitage, Thos. Halpin, Frank Funk.
