ARMITAGE, WALTON "WALTER"

"Walter" Armitage, Native of Scott, Dies Here Monday

Walton "Walter" Armitage died at 4:50 p.m. Monday at Our Saviour's hospital, where he had been admitted a few hours before. He had been in failing health eight weeks.

For the past nine years he resided in or near Woodson.

He was born near Exeter Nov. 20, 1869, a son of Israel and Elizabeth Cundall Armitage. He married Mary Etta Taylor in Scott county in 1892. She survives with one son, Otto of this city and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Erixon of Woodson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also leaves a twin brother, Walker of Beardstown; another brother, Fred of Exeter; and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Bourm of Muskogee, Okla., and Mrs. Annie Leib of Winchester.

He was preceded in deaath by his parents, six brothers and sisters and one grandchild.

The body was taken to the Williamson Funeral Home, where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in Exeter cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.
