JAMES ELLIS was born in the city of London, England, in 1831, He emigrated in 1855, to America, and landed in New York, and from there to Florence, Pike county, Ill. He was married to Miss ELIZABETH ELLIS, daughter of JAMES ELLIS, of Milton, near Oxford, England, in 1855. They have six children, three of whom are now living. Mr. ELLIS is one of the prominent citizens of Winchester, and is highly respected for his honorable and fair dealings with his neighbors.
