HAYES, HARVEY LEE

Roodhouse, Aug. 23 (1954)- Harvey Lee Hayes, east of Murrayville, died at 3:30 a.m. today in Our Saviour's hospital, Jacksonville, where he had been a patient for one week.

He was born in Morgan County the son of John and Alice Lemon Hayes. Surviving are his wife, the former Josephine Wilson; two sons, Morris, Chapin, and Merl, Murrayville; four daughters, Mrs. Raymond Sheppard, White Hall; Mrs. Adrian Wyatt, Roodhouse; Mrs. William Zeisel, East St. Louis, and Mrs Joseph Doolin, Baltimore, Md.; four brothers, John, East St. Louis; George, Wilmington, Ill.; Charles, Huron, S. D. and Ray, Jacksonville; three sister, Mrs. Stella Hagan, Jacksonville; Mrs. Chester Barber, Alton, and Mrs. Glen Durham, Springfield and five grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church, Murrayville, Rev. Ollie Phillips officiating. The body is at the Mackey Funeral Home, Roodhouse, and Tuesday afternoon will be taken to the family residence.

HAYES, JOSEPHINE WILSON

Josephine Hayes, 85, of Murrayville dies; January 15, 1978, funeral Wednesday

Mrs. Josephine (Josie) Hayes of Murrayville died 5:03 p.m. Sunday at Passavant hospital where she had been a patient since January 2. She was 85 years of age.

She was born January 7, 1893, in Morgan County, daughter of Peter and Sarah Hubbell Wilson. She married Harvey Lee Hayes December 31, 1912. He preceded her in death August 23, 1954.

The following children survive; Maurice Hayes of Jacksonville, Mrs. Mary Frances Sheppard of Murrayville, Mrs. Joe (Marjorie Pauline) Bogart of Bloomington, Mrs. William (Augusta) Zeisel of Fairview Heights, Mrs. John (Lena Mae) Dietz of Baltimore, Maryland, and Murrell Wilson Hayes of Murrayville. There are six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

There are two brothers, Arthur Wilson of Murrayville and Robert Wilson of Winchester, and two sisters, Martha McConnell of San Mateo, California, and Olive Schallenburg of Roodhouse, surviving.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Murrayville United Methodist Church where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Murrayville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Murrayville.

HAYES, RUSSELL "SLIM"

"Slim" Hayes, 80, Morgan native, dies

JERSEYVILLE - Russell "Slim" Hayes, 80, of Jerseyville died at 3:07 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, (1990) at Garnet's Chateau Nursing Home in Jerseyville.

He was born May 3, 1909, in Morgan County, son of the late John and Nora Mitchell Hayes.

He is survived by a daughter, Mildred Davis of Jerseyville; a son, James Hayes of Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William Hayes of Jacksonville; and three sisters, Mildred Walker of Jacksonville, Eloise Tatum of Fairmont and Gladys Freitag of Burlington, Iowa.

Mr. Hayes was a laborer in construction, a member of Eagle's Lodge in Jerseyville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville with cremation to follow the service. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Lewis and Clark Lung Association.

Stanley Hayes, 34, dies in New Mexico

Stanley E. Hayes, son of Stanley and Mary Hayes of Chapin, died Monday in Presbyterian hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was 34 years of age.

The remains will be brought to Williamson Funeral Home. Further obituary facts and arrangements will be announced.

Eddy Hayes rites set here Saturday

Stanley Edward Hayes, 33, a former resident of Jacksonville and Chapin, died Monday in Albuquerque, N.M.

He was born in Morgan County Nov. 29, 1944, a son of Stanley W. and Mary Hayes.

He is survived by two daughters, Julia Dee and JoAnn of Tucumcari, N. M.

He was a driver for Road Way Truck Lines. He attended Woodson and Murrayville elementary schools and Jacksonville High School.

Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald C. Colton officiating. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in Manchester Cemetery.

Maurice W. Hayes Of City dies

Maurice Webster Hayes, 73, of 421 S. Clay, died at Passavant Hospital Sunday morning, Dec. 6.

He was born in Morgan County near Murrayville on Aug. 26, 1914, son of Harvey and Josephine Wilson Hayes. He married Oleta Laughary in Chapin Feb. 6, 1953, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Richard of Pekin; three daughters, Mary Lovekamp of Springfield, Mo., Hilda Cantrell of Universal City, Texas, and Sandra Stucker of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Frances Grimm of Jacksonville, Pauline Bogart of Bloomington, August Zeisel of Fairview Heights, and Lena Dietz of Bradenton, Fla,; and a brother Murrel Wilson Hayes of Jacksonville.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was employed at the Jacksonville State Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cody and Son Memorial Home with burial in Murrayville Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday, with family to meet with friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.

Rose M. Hayes, 66, of 1404 S. West St. died at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Passavant Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Williamson Funeral Home.

Rose M. Hayes, 66, of 1404 S. West St. died at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Passavant Hospital.

She was the daughter of Ray Lester and Frona Idona Miller Hayes. She is survived by one brother, Wayne Hayes of Chapin, and one sister, Alice Mattes of Chapin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald Downs. She was retired form Teksonics.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Williamson Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday, and the family will meet friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the Visiting Nurses Association.

Mrs. Hayes Death Saturday Follows Lengthy Illness

Mrs. Margaret Jane Hayes, who has resided with her son, Robert Hayes at Lynnville for the past nine years, passed away at ten o'clock Saturday morning {15 August 1953} at her residence after an illness for the past three years. She was 88 years of age.

Mrs. Hayes was born in Scott county in 1865, the daughter of Elisiah and Katherine Shreeves Suter. Her husband, William Hayes died in 1938. Surviving are the following children, Mrs. Pearl Fletcher of Palmyra, Elmer Hayes of Milan, Robert Hayes of Lynnville, Mrs. Cora Tribble of Jacksonville and Mrs. Mary Lawson of Winchester. One daughter preceded her mother in death. There are 27 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and 15 great, great grandchildren. One brother, Albert Suter, preceded Mrs. Hayes in death.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist church.

The body was taken to the Cunningham Funeral Home in Winchester where services will be held at 2:30 pm Monday. The body will be taken to the Lynnville residence Sunday morning and will remain there until 11 am Monady, when it will be returned to the funeral home.

Rev. Charles Leitze, pastor of the Christian church at Lynnville, will officiate.

Burial will be in the Winchester cemetery.

HAYES FUNERAL SERVICES

Funeral services for Mrs. Margare Jane Hayes were held at two o'clock Monday afternoon at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Winchester, With Rev. Richard Schuemaker of Alsey officiating.

Pallbearers were Floyd Tribble, Louis TRibble, Walter Hayes, Delbert Hayes, George Lawson and Davis Tribble.

Flower girls were Margaret Jokisch, Bertah Lamilino, Rose Groce, Frances Maher, Dorothy Woolsey, Stella Hoots, Marjorie Tribble and Margaret Stevens.

Three songs, Old Rugged Cross, Going Down the River, and Beautiful River, were sung by Harold Hamel, accompanied by Mrs. Scholfield.

Burial was in the Winchester City Cemetery.
