The old Jacob Bunn home at 435 South 6th Street, a fine example of the quality of residential construction in Springfield's early period, dates back to the middle 1850's. The record shows that the site was acquired from the Enos heirs in December of 1854, and the house was probably erected in the following year. . . . From that time on down to the present, the property has remained in the family, Miss Alice Bunn being the present owner and occupant. Its interior arrangement and furnishings are much the same as in the early period when Abraham Lincoln and others of Mr. Bunn's friends of that era were entertained there. . . . The residence will be included in the Victorian tour of Saturday afternoon, arranged by the Springfield Art Association for its members.
