Edith Lucille Samples
1919 - 1999

Edith Lucille Samples, 79, of Jacksonville, died Sunday evening, July 11, 1999, at the Skyview Terrace Nursing Home in Jacksonville.

She was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Jacksonville, the daughter of James Earl and Nina Flynn Bridgeman. She married Cecil Lee Samples on April 2, 1938, in Jacksonville and he survives.

She is survived by one son, Gerald (wife, Betty) of Jacksonville; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn "Joyce Ann" Williams of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia DeGroot of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and James Bridgeman.

She worked several years at Nesco and later for Mid-State Photo Lab and then Colorcraft. She was a member of Wesley Chapel of the United Methodist Church, and her special interests included flower gardening, gathering sea shells and crocheting.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Cemetery, north of Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to the Skyview Terrace Ltd. Nursing Home.
