MARILLA S. MAPES

Jacksonville, Aug 13 -- Mrs. Marill A. Mapes, 84 a resident of Morgan county all her life, died at Passavant Hospital last night from injuries sustained Aug. 8 when she fell at her home.

Decedent was born on a farm northwest of this city Aug. 18, 1853, the daughter of Abraham and Ann Mary Reid. Four children survive: S. L. Mapes, San Bernardina, CA; Reuben Mapes, Mrs. Lincoln Cowdin and Mrs. George Bussey of Jacksonville.

A coroner's jury today found that death was due to exhaustion and a fractured right hip, caused when she fell at the home of Link Cowdin, where she was staying.

Funeral services will be held at the Cody and Son Memorial home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. In charge of the services is Rev. Francis E. Smith of Macon, Ill. Burial will take place in Ebenezer Cemetery.
