Jacksonville - Harold M. Burge, 93, of South Jacksonville died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, in his home.

He was born March 23, 1907, in Decatur, the son of James McCoy and Bessie Electa Bullard Burge. He married Helen Deaton in 1977 in Beardstown; she preceded him in death in 1982. A son, Harold Burge Jr., also preced him in death.

Mr. Burge worked as a carpenter/contractor. He specialized in custom cabinetry, which he installed in recording studios in Los Angeles. He also worked in south suburban Chicago before moving to Jacksonville.

He attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.

Survivors: a son, Roger (wife, Sharon) Burge of Danville; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nathan (wife, Sue) Burge of St. Augustine, Fla., and Truman (wife, Gerry) Burge of Lakewood, Wash.; and three sisters, Ruby Covert of South Holland and Myrtle Hook and Gladys (husband, Dewain) Walter, both of Pleasant Hill, MO.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Burial: Ebenezer Cemetery north of Jacksonville.
