HELEN (DEATON) MOODY BURGE

Helen Burge, 77, dies Thursday; services Sunday

Helen Moody Burge, 77, 1619 Chilton, died Thursday morning at Passavant Hospital. She was born in Morgan County May 24, 1904, daughter of Edward and Tenny Baxter Deaton. She married Elmer Moody and he preceded her in death July 1, 1963. She then married Harold M. Burge Dec. 10, 1977 and he survives.

Also surviving is one son, Roger McCoy Burge of O'Fallon, and one foster son, Charles Spencer of Long Beach, Calif. There are two grandchildren.

The following brothers and sisters also survive: Edward E. Deaton of Jacksonville; Margaret Griffith of Harvey; Dorothy Korty of Bluffs; Robert Deaton of Battle Creek, Mich. and Betty Cash of Port Charlotte, Fla.

There are several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Williamson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m.
