Mrs. Earl Williams Dies Suddenly at Home Here Saturday Heart Attacks Causes Death of Well Known Woman; Funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Earl Williams, wife of former Night Captain Earl Williams of the police department, died suddenly at 6 o'clock Sunday morning from a heart attack. She was 43 years old. The Williams home is at 133 Richard street.
Mrs. Williams had not been in good health for several months, being subject to high blood pressure. She was stricken during the night and a physician was called. Her condition grew worse and her death came as a shock to members of her family and friends.
She was born Nov. 19, 1890, at Versailles, Ill., the daughter of Alexander and Sarah Walker. She was united in marriage with Mr. Williams March 18, 1925. Her survivors are her husband and the following children by a previous marriage: Leroy, Warren and Dorothy Haley. Her brothers are Roy P. Walker of Danville, Ill., Howard L. Walker of Springfield, Ray C. Walker of Jacksonville, and one sister, Mrs. Frank W. Crow of Beardstown. Two brothers, Orville and Fred Walker, preceded her in death in infancy.
Mrs. Williams had resided in Jacksonville for a number of years and had many friends here who will mourn her death.
The remains were removed to the Arthur G. Cody Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
