Edward L. Sieber, Once Cigar Maker Here, Dies Tuesday
Edward L. Sieber, who at one time operated a cigar factory on West Walnut street in Jacksonville before moving to Meredosia a number of years ago, died at 7:30 Tuesday morning at the Passavant hospital.
Mr. Sieber was born in Jacksonville Nov. 18, 1873, the son of E. R. and Kathryn Bardill Sieber. He is survived by four children, Mrs. R. J. Ward and Mrs. Thomas Mayes, both of Jacksonville, Mrs. Gale Fitzgerald, Salt Lake City, Utah and Gebhart Sieber of California. The following brothers, Gus, Albert and Carl, all living in Jacksonville, also survive.
The body was taken to the Cody and Son Memorial Home where services will be held at 4:00 Thursday afternoon (DST) with burial to be made in the Jacksonvile East cemetery.

Mrs. Albert Sieber Dies Saturday
Dies After Long Illness -- Funeral Services Will Be Held Monday
Mrs. Albert Sieber of 851 North Prairie street passed away at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon after a long illness.
Decedent was the daughter of Henry L. and Salina Jackson and was born in this city October 2, 1873.
February 27, 1902, she united in marriage to Albert Sieber in this city who survives together with two sons, Elbert and Edward Sieber. Two children preceded their mother in death.
She also leaves her aged father and the following brothers: Shelton Jackson, Creston, Iowa, Joseph Jackson, Jacksonville, Elbert Jackson, Charleston, Edward Jackson, Fancy Prairie and Arthur Jackson, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Sieber was a member of Centenary church and of Jacksonville Lodge #13 of Rebekahs. For many years, she was a teacher in the Sunday school and so long as her health permitted, she was always active in all phases of church work. She was a woman of fine christian character and won and held many friendships. News of her death will be received with regret by these friends.
Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2:30 Monday afternoon and will be private.
