RUNYON, RUTH MEIER

Ruth M. Runyon, 75, of 466 S. Mauvaisterre St. died early Sunday, May 19, 1991, at Passavant Area Hospital.

She was born Nov. 3, 1915, in Bluffs, the daughter of Henry H. and Louise M. Loehrs Meier. She married Gerald Loren Runyon on Dec. 7, 1939, in Jacksonville. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Damon L. Runyon of New Berlin and Darrell J. Runyon of Jacksonville; one daughter, Mrs. William (Lavonne L,) Matthew of Mount Auburn; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jodelle and Scott Runyon of Jacksonville and Kimberly Frey of St. Louis and Douglas Cox of Denver, Colo.; two stepgrandchildren, John and Lindsay Matthew, both of Alton; one niece, Janis Grissom of Jacksonville; and one nephew, Robert Meier of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her parents; three half brothers, George H. Meier, Alfred W. Meier and Russell R. Meier; and two half sisters, Emma K. Frohwitter and Lousia Marie Meier.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was self-employed in the laundry business for a number of years.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Salem Lutheran Church with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
