William G. Perry

SOUTH JACKSONVILLE - William Gilbert "Bill" Perry, 69, of South Jacksonville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

He was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Versailles, the son of Alva and Eva Hulet Perry. He married Virginia L. Fanning in 1956 in Meredosia.

Mr. Perry retired from Mobil Chemical after 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 1950s. He was a member of AMVETS Post 100 in Jacksonville.

Survivors: wife, Virginia L.; a daughter, Tammy Doyle-Gimmy (husband, Jon Gimmy Jr.) of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Dean (wife, Beulah) Perry of versailles; a sister, Betty Clark of South Jacksonville; two half brothers, Ronnie and Charles; two half sisters, Merna and Frankie; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Burial: Jacksonville East Cemetery.
