Orvel Richard Lomelino
1923 - 2001

JACKSONVILLE

Orvel Richard Lomelino, 78, of Jacksonville, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2, 2001, at Passavant Area Hospital.

He was born July 5, 1923 in Morgan County, the son of David and Daisy Birdsell Lomelino. He married Leona Marie Jaggers June 1, 1945. He later married Mildred Rose Buchanan March 17, 1966, and she survived.

He is also survived by three sons, Robert (wife, Pamela) of Jacksonville, Daniel (wife, Donna) of Davis Junction and Richard (wife, Nancy) of Detroit, Ill.; one daughter, Carolyn (husband, Wayne) White of Woodson; two step daughters, Patti (husband, Terry) Dunmire of Murrayville and Sandra Wright of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph (wife, Dorothy) of Springfield, Mo., and Merle (wife, Betty) of Manchester; one sister, Daisy Lawson of Jacksonville; and one sister-in-law, Kathryn Lomelino. He was preceded in death by one sister, Leona Knox; and three brothers, David, George and Carl.

Mr. Lomelino worked for the City of Jacksonville in the utility department for 31 years, retiring in 1984. He also farmed in the area. He as a member of the Westfair Baptist Church and was a member of the Laborer's Local 253.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cody & Son Memorial Home, with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Westfair Baptist Church.
