Mrs. Lydia M. Jones, a resident of Jacksonville for the last twenty-one years passed away early this morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Ada Long, 914 East Lafayette avenue, with whom she had made her home for four years.

The decedent was born at Bloomfield, Ill., April 10, 1836. She was united in marriage with Presley H. Lakin at New Hartford, Ill., in 1860. To that union four children were born, three of whom survive. They are Charles D. Lakin of Hull, Ill., Mrs. Ada Long and Mrs. Martha Abbott, both of Jacksonville. Mr. Lakin passed away in 1889. The name of the deceased daughter was Ida A. Lakin.

In 1902 Mrs. Lakin was united in marriage with Harvey Jones in this city. Mr. Jones died January 10, 1921.

Mrs. Jones became a member of the Methodist faith when nine years old. She was a member of Centenary church of this city. She was a woman most highly respected by a large circle of friends. the earlier part of her life was spent at Pearl, Ill., and she came to Jacksonville 21 years ago.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the residence in charge of Rev. C. D. Robertson of Centenary church. Interment will be in Jacksonville cemetery.
