Clarabell Gimbel

JACKSONVILLE - Clarabell Gimbel, 81, of Jacksonville died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

She was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Brown County, Mo., the daughter of John Russell and Lula Tisha Ragan Ballenger. She married George Gimbel in 1939 in Bowling Green, Mo. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lula Bell Daniels, and a son, George R. Gimbel.

Mrs. Gimbel had worked at J. Capps and Sons and several local nursing homes, including Barton W. Stone Christian Home.

Survivors: husband, George; two daughters, Tina (husband, Loi) Kemple and Rose Maddox, both of Jacksonville; a son, Carl Gimbel of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Loren (wife, Peggy) Ballenger of Mount Sterling; and a sister, Velma Butler of Griggsville.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Burial: Jacksonville East Cemetery.
