Deatherage

The funeral of Daniel Deatherage was held at the residence of his brother, Lee Deatherage, on East Dunlap street, Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock, in charge of Nathan English. A choir composed of Mrs. Joy Green, Miss Emma Wharton, and W.W. Gillham sang appropriate hymns.

At the conclusion of the services the remains were borne to Jacksonville cemetery and were there laid to rest. The bearers were James Black, Chas. Black, Mr.. Lindsay, Irvan Patterson, Dan Baban, and James Self.

Daniel Deatherage was born May 9, 1846, near Waverly, Morgan County, and died of paralysis of the heart at Point Washington, Fla., Jan 30, 1905.

He was married to Catherine Michner, Dec 27, 1874. Besides his wife he leaves one sister, Mrs. M.M. Henderson, of Arcadia, and three brothers, Ed and Levi of Arcadia, and Lee Deatherage of this city, and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
