Myrtle A. Crowder
1916-2002
JACKSONVILLE
Myrtle A. Crowder, 85, of Jacksonville,
died Monday afternoon, Feb. 4, 2002, at Passavant Area Hospital in
Jacksonville.
She was born March 26, 1916 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Samuel "Mac" and Aurora Bertha Angelo Chaudoin. She married John Crowder Sept. 1, 1934, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1990.
She is survived by two sons, Harold (wife, Bette) and Clarence (wife, Loretta), both of Jacksonville; two daughters, Patricia (husband, Norm) Cottingham and JoAnn (husband, Joe) Dorris, both of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iva "Sis" Miller of Mendota and Betty (husband, Ed) Moore of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by one son, Monty; one sister, Pauline Stone; and three brothers, Otis Chaudoin, Lennie Chaudoin and Percy Owens.
Mrs. Crowder had been employed as a hosuekeeper at the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired for 10 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and dearly loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Williamson Funeral Home with burial in Jacksonville East Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where family will meet friends 6-8p.m. Memorials are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
