ANDERS, CHARLES A.


Chas. Anders, 82, dies here Monday; funeral Wednesday

Charles A. Anders of 1621 South Clay avenue died at 9:14 a.m. Monday (March 14, 1977) at Passavant hospital where he had been a patient since Feb. 1st. He was 82 years of age and retired from employment at MacMurray College in maintenance.

Mr. Anders was born at Waverly April 26, 1894, son of John and Rebecca Wright Anders. He married Leona Wood at Jacksonville in August 1926. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. George (Katherine) Rust of Woodson, and these grandchildren, Leeann Ward, Marilyn, Tom, Randy and Ted Rust, and one great grandchild. Six brothers and five sisters preceded in death.

The deceased was a veteran of World War One and member of the VFW and American Legion Posts.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home with Rev. W. F. Dougherty officiating. Interment will be in Jacksonville East cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Heart Fund.

Friends may call at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

June E. Anders, 55, dies early Thursday

June E. Anders, 55, 327 Marion St. died at early Thursday, Feb. 1, 1990, at Passavant Hospital.

She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Literberry, a daughter of George O. and Gertrude McFarland Decker. She married Robert M. Anders.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Anders of Jacksonville and Mrs. David (Becky) Cain of Murrayville; a son, Craig Anders of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; six sisters, Alice Willis of Jacksonville, Clarice Mason of Pekin, Opal Tucker of Literberry, Mildred Tucker of Jacksonville, Ruth Decker of Pekin and Mary Bell of Virginia; and two brothers, John Decker of Literberry and Albert Decker of Creve Coeur.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Ms. Anders was a member of the Church of Christ. She was employed as a housekeeper at Barton W. Stone Christian Home for 15 years.

Services will be at 2. p.m. Saturday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home with burial in Jacksonville East Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Church of Christ.
