Died at her late home in Ashland, Ill., Sunday, Dec. 23, at 4:30 p.m., Mrs. Lydia A. Hymes, after a long illness. She was 86 years, 20 days old. She leaves one daughter, Miss Mina Hymes and ten grandchildren besides a host of sympathizing friends.

Those who have watched the passing of this worthy lady have witnessed the closing of a beautiful life. She was one who was admired by all who knew her as one possessing many good qualities. She is not dead but sleeping. The gates have closed. Well done, thou good and faithful servant, come up higher.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at Berea Christian Church, Rev. C. E. French of Virginia, officiating. Interment was in Berea Cemetery.
