William H. "Billy" Beilschmidt

William H. "Billy" Beilschmidt, 95, of Jacksonville and formerly of the Berea area, died Monday evening, Feb. 22, 1999, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

He was born April 15, 1903, at his family's Berea community home in northeast Morgan County, the son of Henry W. and Mary Elizabeth Talkemeyer Beilschmidt.

He is survived by one sister, Oley Mae of Jacksonville; one cousin; and several distant relatives. He was preceded in death by one sister, Verna Inez.

Mr. Beilschmidt attended Berea country school and graduated from Brown's Business College in Jacksonville. He operated his family farm until his retirement and resided on the farm his entire life until relocating in September of 1995 to Modern Care Convalescent Center in Jacksonville. He was a long time member of Berea Christian Church where he was named a Deacon Emeritus and formerly served as a member of the church board and trustees. He also formerly served on the Berea Cemetery Board of Directors.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Berea Christian Church, south of Prentice, with burial at Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Beilschmidt Chapel fund of Passavant Area Hospital, Berea Cemetery, or a charity of the donor's choice. The Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home of Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
