Oley M. Beilschmidt

Oley Mae Beilschmidt, 100, of rural Alexander, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2000, at Modern Care Convalescent Facility in Jacksonville.

She was born Oct. 21, 1900, in Morgan County, the daughter of Henry W. and Mary Elizabeth Talkemeyer Beilschmidt.

She is survived by a cousin, William Talkemeyer of Arenzville; several distant cousins; and her caretakers, Diann and Harold "Butch" Hoagland Jr. of rural Alexander. She was preceded in death by a brother, William H. "Billy," and a sister, Verna Inez.

Miss Beilschmidt farmed with her brother in the Berea area of Morgan County for many years until relocating in September of 1995 to Modern Care Convalescent Facility due to her health. She lived her entire life in the Berea area of Morgan County. She attended Berea School and was a graduate of Eureka College. She was a member of Berea Christian Church and was a lifetime member of Berea Ladies Aid.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Berea Christian Church, south of Prentice, with burial at Berea Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until time of services Friday. Memorials are suggested to Modern Care Resident Activity Fund. The Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
