Mrs. Ida Martin was born in Baden, Germany, on November 5, 1857 and died March 7, 1931, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 2 days. She came to America when ten years old and was married to Henry Martin of Petersburg, Illinois on February 9, 1874.

To this union were born ten children, nine of whom are living. They are: Fred of McCook, Nebraska, Henry of Tucson, Arizona, Louis and Paul of Morrill, Nebraska. Also Mrs. Bird Cresey of Marian, Nebraska, Mrs. Rose Jameson of McCook, Nebraska and Mrs. Mary Waller of Lincoln, Illinois. There were eleven grandchildren and four great grand-children. One daughter, Nora, died at the age of four years.

She died at the home of here daughter, Mrs. Rose Jameson at McCook, Nebraska, Mrs. Martin lived at Athens, Illinois where all of here children were born. Moving to Milan, Missouri, February 1911, where her husband died June 12, 1912. In 1912 she moved to Tina, Missouri and in 1920 to Marion, Nebraska where she lived until her death. She united with the German Lutheran church when a child. She was a patient sufferer.

The remains were brought to this city and taken to Mott's funeral home where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 11 at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Paul J. DuBois officiating. Interment was made in West cemetery.
