SPRINGFIELD
Shirley J. Laurik, 64, of Springfield died Sunday May 5, 2002 at St. John's North. She was born Nov. 10, 1937, in Springfield, the daughter of Allen Jr. and Eva D. Harrelson Yoakum.

Mrs. Laurik was a graduate of Athens High School and a Data Entry Operator for the Department of Revenue. She was a member of South Side Christian Church.

Survivors: three sons, Steven (wife, Geraldin) Yoakum of Cantrall, John Laurik III and Russel Laurik, both of Springfield; four daughters, Theresa (husband, Michael) of Springfield, Cindy Luttrell of Chatham, Candy (husband, Paul) Maynard of Buffalo and Rajean Gallagher of Chicago Ridge; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother Larry (wife, Flo) Yoakum of Springfield; a sister Linda (husband, Randy) Wasilewski of Athens, and four nieces.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, Jeff Chitwood Officiating. Burial: Athens West Cemetery.
