Joseph Brown was the father of Fieldon Ballard's wife Margaret. Three of his other daughters also came to Sangamon/Menard Co: Russell Godby's wife Elizabeth, Isaac Snodgrass's wife Sarah and Philip Barnet's wife Jane.
