Mrs. Woodrum, 88, Dies at Tallula Home

Mrs. Sally Woodrum, widow of the late Abe Woodrum and a resident of Tallula for the past thirty-four years, died at her home there on Sunday, Aug. 24, following a long illness.

Mrs. Woodrum was born at Merrimac, KY on June 15, 1870, a daughter of Henry and Eliza Merrill Lowe. She was married to Abe Woodrum, in Kentucky on January 23, 1888 and they lived there for a time then moved to Tallula where Mr. Woodrum died on March 6, 1934.

Mrs. Woodrum is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earl Parsons and Mrs. And Mrs. William Bryant; and one son Billy Woodrum, all of Tallula; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Barry Woodrum of Tallula and Mrs. Ollie Cornelius of Carlinville.

Funeral Services were held at the Thompson Harms & Hurley funeral home at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Burl H. Sealock of Tallula, and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
