WILLIAM LOYD DEAD

Aged Resident of Menard County Dies
After a Long Illness.

Petersburg, Ill., July 20, William Loyd died Sunday at his home in this city. He was 87 years of age and has been very feeble for a long time. He was one of the oldest residents of this county and is well known in this vicinity. His wife is also seriously ill. Besides his wife, Mr. Loyd leaves six children as follows: Mrs. Hall, of Mason County; Dr. Loyd of California; Fred Loyd of Rock Island; Kate Newbury of Chicago; Eva Stafford of Minneapolis and another daughter in Chicago.

The funeral will probably be held Tuesday afternoon from the house. Internment will be at Rose Hill. Mr. Loyd has taken two prizes for being the oldest settler at the county old settlers reunions.
