ALFRED MILLER

The funeral services of Alfred Miller took place Monday afternoon at the home in the north part of the city conducted by Rev. D.J. Mitterling of the First Presbyterian church; interment in Hickory Grove cemetery seven miles south of this city. Mr. Miller was born in Menard county ,February 1, 1827 and died at the age of seventy-six years, one month, and twenty eight days. He was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Pemberton in 1850 and to this union were born nine children, six of whom are living. The widow and four children are living in Petersburg and two children in Taylorville. He and his companion, in pioneer life in this county, managed to raise the six children to years of maturity and in his last hours bestowed the blessing of "I want you to meet me in Heaven."
