Directions: Heading from Athens on Route 29, towards Springfield, turn
left at Route 124 which is about 1.4 miles from the Athens entrance on
Route 29. Follow Route 124 about 3.3 miles to the crossroad which is a two-way
stop. Turn left on to Constant Road, towards Fancy Prairie. Follow Constant Road
about 2.5 miles until you come to the first road before Fancy Prairie. This is
Peoria Road, but there is no sign indicating such. You can only turn
left. After turning left, follow this road 3.4 miles. You will
see Walnut Ridge Cemetery on the left side of the road. There is a sign right on
Peoria Road and a long gravel lane which goes up a hill to the very well kept and
pretty cemetery. Some of the stones are very large and beautiful as shown in the
accompanying pictures.
