VANETTEN, MARGARET PITTMAN

Petersburg Observer 16 Jan 1904

Mrs. James VanEtten died at her home east of Tice, Monday night, January 12, 1904, aged 34 years. She had been ill only a short time with measles complicated by pneumonia. Deceased leaves to mourn her loss, the bereaved husband, four children, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held in Baker�s Prairie church conducted by Rev. Eades, Wednesday at 11 o�clock a.m. Burial in Baker�s Prairie cemetery.

NOTE: Mrs. James VanEtten is Margaret Pittman who married James VanNatten on 25 June 1891. She was born around 1870 to Sterling H. & Rebecca Smith Pittman in Kentucky. She and James had three children, Pearl, Iona and Herbert VanNatten. Herbert also died in 1904 and his death certificate says he is buried in Baker Prairie Cemetery as well. There are only a few stones remaining there today.
