GEORGE B. WELSH, farmer and stock-dealer; P.O. Tallula; was born in Forfarshire, Scotland, April 1, 1838, and was brought by his parents to Upper Canada, near Toronto, in 1849; his parents were John and Joanna (Baxter) Welsh. He was married, while in Canada, to Miss Catharine Miller April 15, 1859; they came to Illinois in 1863, settling near where he now resides; he has by industry and economy accumulated a fine property; he owns 300 acres of well-improved land; they have a family of seven -- John, Jennie, Gains, George, Herbert, Christina and May. Mr. Welsh has always interested himself in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the community in which he has lived and is a much respected citizen.
